The basic premise of the Artificial evenings is the promoting of electronic music to the masses. It was conceived by musicians Paul Keen (a.k.a. ) and Paul Madsen (a.k.a. Madsen) and music enthusiast Tony as a new arts event, dedicated exclusively to electronic music - at the time of conception and writing this piece, it was the only one of it?s kind in East Anglia.

By exploring and celebrating the diversity of the electronic music genre, Artificial aims to feature live performances from the most innovative up-and-coming artists and provide a platform to showcase original material.

The very first of these events, dubbed Artificial 01>, was held on the evening of Saturday 21st August 2010, it's line being:

Lost Controllers
Madsen and Ella Garner (making her debut live performance)

The Artificial 01> event was a resounding success with a good crowd and some great electronic music. Artificial 01> also enjoyed significant coverage in the local media with interviews being conducted by local newspapers and B.B.C. Radio Norfolk Introducing prior to the event.

The Geigertek set consisted of the material found on the "Endless Night E.P." which is available from AD Music and other on-line download sites, plus cover versions of The Moody Blues song "Nights In White Satin" and "Forever Autumn" from the classic "The War Of The Worlds" album. The set went extremely well with music performed by Neil that was quite a departure from both "The Garden" and "The Timeless Mind" and featuring electronic and vocal work - yes, Neil sings!!!

All in all, the set (and the evening) were well-received and despite Neil's remark of the performance being something of a "nightmare to both sing and play live", it is something that he has said will happen again in the future.
